Good morning, it is Finland's independence day! I just slept like a baby and woke up a bit before nine, which is late for me. But that's the theme of the day. To take it easy, burn candles, be together and eat delicious things. To hygge from the bottom of our hearts - at first some hot cocoa in the city, followed by a dinner with relatives. And also, watching a presidential reception is one of our annual traditions.
I don't know if it's because of our wanders in Lapland or the fact that I've been traveling quite a bit in general, but everyday I become a little bit prouder about being a Finn. For example yesterday I was sitting in the window spot at my favorite café and I suddenly felt very warm and bubbly when I watched outside. I got so lucky about Helsinki and Finland in general. The nature, serenity, snow and licorice. The fact that I'm able to call this place home and come back with a smile on my face, even though I'm a wanderer and definitely need to fell in love with other places as well. However, Finland takes the biggest part of my heart.
Ja hei, saatiinpa vielä luntakin tähän aamuun. Minkälaisia suunnitelmia teillä on juhlapäivälle? :)
And guess what, we woke up to snow this morning. Do you have any plans for today? :)
